A robust and powerful search engine is required to not only search and retrieve documents and information from these large stores at a click of a button, but to also permit annotation of this information if necessary with predefined "Library of Congress" classification rules with additional notes, words and phrases not necessarily contained in the original source document but pertaining to and relating to the source document.
Users may also want to add additional notes, words and phrases commonly used by industry or education curriculum departments or bodies pointing to specific digital content thus making it easier for non technical staff to retrieve this information.
This product needs to be run on a full MS-SQL2005 database engine.
This has absolutely no restriction on patron numbers, bibliographic or authority file entries across the entire database. There are also no restrictions on the number of sites or logical libraries. It is in essence only limited by your physical hardware.
v-Library Open Search is more powerful and provides much more speed, performance and features than Google’s search appliance for enterprise and wide area networks.
