You must have the right server environment if you envisage changing the culture of your staff and users from viewing the library as just a place you go for physical resources. To operate as a “Resource Centre” where your staff and users can access rich Multimedia, Global content, Curriculum as well as reserve physical resources, the platform, software, hardware and operating system needs to be right from day one. Compromise in any of these areas will comprise the library, it's staff, professionalism and the services they provide.
